Zhaoliang Cui is currently an associate professor of College of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing, China. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University in 2011, and spent several years (2011-2014) as a postdoctoral fellow and assistant research professor at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. Orienting to the major demand of membranes with high performance for water treatment, Dr. Cui’s research group engaged in fundamental research and industrialization of fluoropolymeric membranes for water treatment. They brock through the technological bottleneck of highly-antifouling poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane production, and established a spin-off company Nanjing Jiuying Membrane Corporation supplying advanced membranes for water purification and reuse.
He was funded by projects such as the National Key R&D Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, et. al. He has published more than 30 papers in the important journals such as Prog Polym Sci, J Membr Sci, et al, applied 12 Chinese patents and one PCT patents, wrote one chapter of a book, and involved in Encyclopedia of Membranes. Thanks to his achievement, he was awarded as the First Class Prizes of the 2019 Scientific and Technological Advancement Award of China (5/10), the First Class of the 2018 Scientific and Technological Advancement Award of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (5/18), the 2017 Jiangsu Scientific and Technological Progress Award (5/10).
